transforming the nonprofit sector
our clients

“Just as we do with our clients and communities, we consistently seek out and listen to the voices and ideas of team members from marginalized communities, ensuring that as many of their perspectives as possible are always included in our decision-making.”
– NEW’s 10-year Vision
OUR WHY
Every day NEW works alongside many of the organizations that hold the fabric of our society together. As we do this, we want to ensure that their impact gets elevated alongside our own. After all, we can only transform the future by doing so together. We hope this page gives you some insight into who they are and all the good they’re doing in our communities.

OUR PRIORITIES
While we are glad to support and work alongside a diverse array of nonprofits, our programs and
services are especially suited for nonprofits who are led by and/or serving the following populations

The communities have long been on the receiving end of systemic oppression and marginalization.
When we center their needs and perspectives, we co-create solutions that benefit everyone.

HANDS AND HEART DOULA CARE
The mission of Hands and Heart Doula Care is to eliminate the negative birth outcome disparity that exists with BIPOC childbearing women and to lower maternal morbidity and mortality. By ensuring the birthing person feels safe, empowered, informed, respected, and heard throughout the pregnancy, labor, and delivery experience.
“I envision a community in which no woman has to give her life in order to bring forth another life. My mission is to help as many women as I can to have rewarding and empowering experiences during the births of their babies. I believe that every birthing person who would like to have the help and support of a doula should be able to have that help.”
Hands and Heart Doula Care has worked with NEW in 2024 to facilitate and support the work of Najma and the doulas she works with. Primarily with assistance with grant fund management and advising on programming. Najma is a passionate and dynamic leader and it has been a pleasure watching her project move from an idea to a practice of supporting experienced doulas and birthing persons most likely to be negatively impacted by racial bias in our medical system.
“We are proud to work with Najma and her project because she envisions a community where no one should lose their life in their birthing process, and addresses the systemic mistreatment of BIPOC birthing persons by giving them support both inside and outside a medical setting.. Hands and Heart doula services aims to make birthing support available to all who need it. Her project also provides support to doulas with training and other resources to improve their skills, build confidence and expand their practice as doulas.”

Over the years, the IT team has created and supported a variety of IT infrastructure models and services to Midnight Golf by providing not only a helpdesk but overall system and network administration. About Midnight Golf:
At the Midnight Golf Program (MGP), we believe in the unlimited potential of our young people. Founded in 2001 by Reneé Fluker, a career social worker and single mother, MGP was inspired by her son’s transformative experience with golf. Recognizing the doors that golf opened for him, Reneé envisioned a program that could provide similar opportunities for other young adults in the community.
Midnight Golf’s Mission:
For 23 years, MGP has been dedicated to equipping determined young adults with essential life skills, proactive coaching, and long-term mentoring needed to succeed in college, their careers, and beyond. By integrating the discipline of golf with comprehensive life skills training, we empower our participants to reach their full potential and become leaders in their communities.
Expansion and Future Plans:
In 2024, MGP is embarking on an exciting new chapter as we transition into a permanent home of our own located at the former Channel 56 building at 7441 2nd Ave. in Detroit, MI. This 38,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility will be a hub for teaching, mentoring, and community engagement, enabling us to further our mission and impact even more lives under one roof.
